Women's Tennis Falls to Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. - Notching four of the six singles matches paced No. 40 Oregon to an upset victory over No. 21 Arizona, 5-4, Sunday at the Eugene Swim and Tennis Club.
Arizona logged singles and doubles victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions accounting for its four points.
Highlighting singles play for the Wildcats was junior Michelle Gough and sophomore Lindsay Blau. Gough, ranked No. 89 in the country, defeated Oregon's Alina Wygonowska, 6-3, 6-1, while Blau upset 65th-ranked Monika Gieczys, 6-4, 6-1.
In doubles play, Blau and Gough defeated OU's duo of Sarah Colistro and Monika Gieczys, 8-3. UA's doubles team of senior Vanessa Abel and junior Joanna Buczkowska outlasted Amy Juppenlatz and Janice Nyland, 8-6
Arizona returns to action next Saturday when they travel up to Tempe, Ariz. to take on in-state rival Arizona State at 1 p.m. MST.
