Two Additional Wildcat Divers Advance to NCAA Championships
Ruben Vaca Crowned Zone E Champion in 1-Meter
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - At day two of the Zone E Diving Championships today at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center, Arizona junior Arno Bergstrom and junior Adrian David cliched their trips to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Bergstrom and David join sophomore Ruben Vaca and junior Lindsay Berryman who clinched their trips in yesterday's action.
In the morning session Vaca finished in first place in the 1-Meter Springboard with a score of 507.36, while Bergstrom placed ninth (426.45). Other men's finishers included freshman Scott Koenig (13th; 411.06) and senior Chris Lane (18th; 362.61).
For the women in the morning session, David was the Cats' top finisher in the 3-Meter Springboard (fifth place; 481.05). Other women's finishers included Berryman (eighth; 464.80), senior Andrea Glass (ninth; 459.80), freshman Jenn Hess (17th; 407.35), sophomore Sara Quijano (29th; 206.45) and senior Jill Berg (39th; 161.00).
The NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships begin Thursday, March 16 at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The men's NCAAs begin Thursday, March 23 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
