Jenna Daniels Named Golf World's Player of the Week

Tucson, Ariz. -- For the second consecutive week, an Arizona women's golfer has been named Golf World Magazine's Player of the Week. Jenna Daniels received the honor today after she won the Ping/ASU Invitational last Sunday in Tempe, Ariz.

Wildcat sophomore Cristina Baena won the award last week.

Daniels, who is the nation's top-ranked golfer, won the medalist honors by eight strokes after carding a 9-under-par-207 (68-71-68) at ASU's Karsten Golf Course. It was her second tournament win of the season and fifth of her career. She currently leads the No. 1 ranked Wildcats in stroke average (71.29) and she has placed in the top-10 in all eight tournaments this season.

Arizona, which has won a school record five consecutive tournaments, will be in action again on April 24-26, at the 2000 Pac-10 Conference Championships in Eugene, Ore. The Wildcats, who have placed either first or second at the Pac-10 Championship in each of the past four seasons, will go after the program's third conference title.
