Jason Gardner was named the National Freshman of the Year, marking the third such honor he has received this season. He was also selected as the National Freshman of the Year by the United States Basketball Writer's Association and Basketball Times. Other honors received from Basketball News by Gardner included National All-Freshman first team, West Region Freshman of the Year, West Region All-Freshman first team and West All-Region first team.

Michael Wright was named to the West All-Region second team, while Gilbert Arenas was on the National All-Freshman second team and the West Region All-Freshman first team.
