"We did what we had to do to win. It's good to have one game at home where we don't have to sit at the edge of our seats until the last three minutes. We played better in the Oregon game than in the Oregon State game."

"Luke (Walton) played well and the tapes showed it. Rick (Anderson) played well too. It is good to see those two doing well and that their confidence with each other is rising."

Last Weekend in the Pac-10:

"Everyone was shocked that California had the ability to sweep the LA schools, and with USC having two home losses it is going to be hard for them."

"Stanford continues to dominate people, which is not a great surprise with their size and depth. They play with experience, talent, and are extremely prepared. It was a huge weekend for the Bay Area schools and a disaster for the LA schools."

"Look at the manner in how Stanford has won games. Other teams stay with them and then eventually they break them down. When we play Stanford we need to compete hard and hit shots and free throws down the stretch."

This Weekend:

"Any game is a concern for us with four wins at home. Other programs say how young their team is, but look at our starting lineup. We have two true freshmen, a red-shirt freshman, a redshirt who is a transfer from last year, and a sophomore, Off the bench, we have a junior and a sophomore. This is a young team. We make some bone head plays and they know it after they've made them. But they are young and that is what experience is about. They are also a competitive team and will find a way to win.

"When we last played Washington we missed a lot of good shots. We did not have a good shooting performance."

Loren Woods being named Pac-10 Player of the Week:

"I am happy that Loren (Woods) was recognized for his work this past weekend. He is really playing well right know and we are going to need more performances like that from him the rest of the way."

"John (Ash) is going to be out this week with a knee injury. So that means that we will count on Gilbert (Arenas) more at point and to relieve Jason (Gardner). Rick (Anderson) and Luke (Walton) will cover our other spots."

"Luke (Walton) is doing things that we felt he'd do when he got here. He is our best communicator on the court. He gets in the line of people. He is very unselfish and always looking for a pass first. People don't realize what kind of job he's done for us."

"Rick (Anderson) needs to slow down and needs to let the game come to him. He is a competitor. I am happy to see that he's more confident in what he can do. He needs to just let it happen and come to him. He works hard and understands his role. He can flat out shoot the ball."
