The University of Arizona softball team is ranked No. 4 in the USA Today/NFCA preseason poll released Thursday. The Pac-10 has seven teams ranked in the poll, including three of the top four. UCLA is the top-ranked team in the country followed by No. 2 Washington and Fresno State is ranked third. Southern Mississippi rounds out the top five.

The other Pac-10 teams in the poll include No. 9 Arizona State, No. 11 Oregon State, No. 12 California and No. 21 Stanford.

Arizona opens its season next week with an exhibition game against Central Arizona on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. followed by the Arizona Softball Classic Friday, Feb. 4 - Sat., Feb. 5. All games will be held at Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium.
