Four Arizona players including Blau, advanced in singles main draw competition at UCI Tennis Stadium. Freshman Uzma Khan, junior Michelle Gough, and senior Vanessa Abel rounded out the list of Wildcats who advanced.

Khan won her opening round match with USC's Tiffany Brymer, 6-3, 6-1 before falling to UCLA's Abigail Spears, 3-6, 6-7.

Gough notched a victory in her first round match from Anita Loyola of USC, 6-4, 7-5 and was defeated by San Diego's Katarina Valkyova, 4-6, 1-6.

In her opening round match, Abel topped San Diego State's Laura Aguero, 6-2, 6-4 and oulasted Paola Palencia of Pepperdine in the second round, 6-4, 7-6.

Highlighting doubles competition for the Wildcats, Blau and Gough were victorious in their opening round match against Loyola Marymount's Julie Hladik and Edit Pakay, 8-2. The duo of Khan and Abel downed San Diego's Erika Pyne and Kateryna Valkyova, 8-4.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday morning at 9 a.m. PST.
