Men's Golf Trail the Pack at Red River Classic
Dallas, Texas The University of Arizona men's golf team is in 15th place after the first two rounds of the Taylor Made Red River Classic, which is being held at the Dallas Athletic Club (Par-72, 6,766 yards). The Wildcats shot a 286 in this morning's round and followed that with a 296 in the afternoon to post their 6-over-par 582 total.
South Carolina is in first place after shooting a tournament record 36 total of 32under-par 544 (267-277). Oklahoma State is in second at 547 and Houston is third at 551.
Individually, South Carolina's John Bloomfield tied the 36-hole record by carding a 13-under-par 131 (65-66). He owns a two-shot lead over Kent's Ben Curtis and Baylor's Aaron Pellegrem, who are both at 11-under-par 133.
Arizona's's top golfer is Ricky Barnes, who is tied for 35th with a two-round total of 2-under-par 142 (69-73). Scott Moore is tied for 43rd at 1-under-par 143 (73-70), Derek Gillespie is tied for 52nd at even-par 144 (67-77) and Cody Beyer is tied for 83rd at 10-over-par 154 (77-77). The final UA golfer, Patrick Norris withdrew in the first round, but was able to return in the second round and shoot a 76.
