Brad Dancer - Head Coach

Brad Dancer graduated with a business degree from Michigan State in 1993. During his collegiate career, he played at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions and was a four-time academic All-Big10 member and an all-conference selection his senior year.

During his playing career, Dancer began to develop his thirst for coaching. Since that time he has been fortunate enough to train some outstanding athletes, including Martina Navratilova, Mariaan De Swardt, Joannette Kruger, and Mirjana Lucic. While directing strategic, technical, fitness, and analytical programs for these individuals, he gained insight into the inner-workings of world-class competitors.

In 1996, Dancer helped guide the United States Fed Cup team to the title as an assistant under tennis-great Billie Jean King that culminated in a championship match victory over Russia. The star-studded team included Lindsay Davenport, Monica Seles, Mary Joe Fernandez and Venus and Serena Williams. In addition, he coaches the Billie Jean King-owned Delaware Smash of the Dupont World Team Tennis League.

An original member of the WTA Coaches Committee, Dancer has pursued changes that benefit the health and prosperity of the WTA. Dancer's knowledge of the tour combined with his passion for teaching, will facilitate the challenge many players face at the collegiate level.

"One of goals is to get the players to develop an understanding of tennis similar to the pros," Dancer said. "I've surrounded myself with a coaching staff that has the knowledge and experience to empower the team."
