Men's Tennis Wins Fourth Straight, 5-1
TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona won its fourth straight match Tuesday defeating Marquette, 5-1. The Cats (7-3) captured the momentum of the match early winning close doubles matches at the No. 1 at No. 2 positions.
UA's doubles team of seniors Jean-Noel LaCoste and Michel Stopa defeated Marquette's Peter Mojzis and Christophe Van Der Gucht, 9-8 (0) at the No.1 position. At the No. 2 spot, the Wildcats' duo of senior Alex Brown and freshman Tom Lloyd outlasted MU's pair of Justin Holson and Bart Cordemeyer, 9-8 (2), clinching the doubles point for the Cats.
Marquette (4-4) logged its lone point of the match at the No. 3 singles spot where Bart Cordemeyer got past Lloyd, 6-3, 0-6, 6-3.
The Wildcats return to action when they play host to No. 19 USC, March 10, at 1:30, at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
