5.24.2000 Men's Golfers Ranked 10th This Week, Four Individuals Among the Top-100 Tucson, Ariz. (May 24) -- The University of Arizona men's golf team, winners of the NCAA West Regional last weekend, is ranked No. 10 in the latest edition of the MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings. For the first time this season, four individuals are ranked among the top-100. Senior Derek Gillespie continues to be the highest ranked Wildcat and is No. 17. He is followed by freshman Ricky Barnes at No. 22, freshman Reid Hatley at No. 75 and sophomore Cody Beyer at No. 94. The Wildcats will be in action again next week when they travel to the 2000 NCAA Men's Golf Championships on May 31 - June 3. The 72-hole tournament will be held at the Grand National Golf Club in Opelika, Ala. |
