UA Women's Basketball Players Get Chance at WNBA

Four former University of Arizona women's basketball players are participating in the WNBA Pre-Draft Camp in Chicago, Ill., on April 13-15. Center Marte Alexander, guard Felecity Willis and forwards Angela Lackey and Tatum Brown were all invited to the combine, which is being held at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

Another former player, guard Lisa Griffith, will try out for a new expansion team, the Portland (Ore.) Fire, on April 29-30.

The Wildcats have only one former player currently active in the WNBA, the UA's all-time leading scorer Adia Barnes, who is with the Phoenix Mercury.

The 2000 WNBA draft will be held on Tuesday, April 25. More information is available on the WNBA website, www.WNBA.com.
