Arizona Tops Oregon, 77-71

Michael Wright scores a game high 20 points as the Cats roll over Oregon, 77-71.

Meantime, UA center Loren Woods added a triple double, with 16 poiints, 10 rebounds and a record 14 blocked shots.

Woods' triple-double is the first league triple double since Toby Bailey of UCLA had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Stephen F. Austin on Dec. 18, 1995.

It's Arizona's most recent triple since Damon Stoudamire scored 32 points, had 12 boards and 14 assists vs. Oregon in McKale Center on Feb. 23, 1995.

Woods' 14 blocked shots tied an NCAA single-game record held by three other players -- David Robinson of Navy (vs. UNC-Wilmington 1986), Shawn Bradley of BYU (vs. Eastern Kentucky 1990) and Roy Rogers of Alabama (vs. Georgia 1996). The 14 also broke the McKale Center record of 11 set by Joe Barry Carroll of Purdue in an NCAA game in McKale in 1977.

Woods' blocks set a Pac-10 record, eclipsing Jelani McCoy's 11 (UCLA, vs. Maryland Dec. 9, 1995).

Woods now has 90 blocked shots, a UA season record, breaking Anthony Cook's mark of 84 (1989) and is the fourth-highest total in Pac-10 single-season history.
