Andrade Slams Southern Miss
Pepsi Softball Classic - University of Arizona - Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000
TUCSON, Ariz.--Junior college transfer Allison Andrade hit her first career home run and the grand slam in the bottom of the first helped propel No. 4-ranked Arizona to a 10-2 victory over No. 5 Southern Mississippi in the final game of the Pepsi Arizona Softball Classic.
USM (0-4) All-American pitcher Courtney Blades gave up a single and walked four batters in the inning before Andrade's shot to left field. She left the game in the second after walking two more hitters to give her 19 walks in four appearances.
The Cats took a 9-0 lead in the third when Andrade walked and was tripled in by Lisha Ribellia, who scored on an RBI single by Katie Swan. Ribellia also tripled in the fifth and was driven in by Nicole Giordano for the mercy- rule eight run differential to end the game.
