Torres' three homers, all solo shots, tied a record originally set by Dennis Haines vs. Texas-El Paso in 1972 and tied by Ron Hassey against Weber State in 1974. The only other time that Arizona has hit six home runs as a team was vs. Brigham Young in 1974.

The Arizona victory knotted the series at one win apiece. The Wildcats improved to 19-21 overall and 4-7 in the Pac-10 while the UW slipped to 13-16 and 3-5.

U of A starter Tony Milo (3-5) allowed four earned runs and struck out nine batters over seven innings to notch the win. Husky starter Matt Gardner fell to 1-3 with the loss, giving up four earned runs in three frames.

Ben Diggins, Trevor Mote and Ernie Durazo all added home runs for Arizona. Torres, Diggins and shortstop Keoni DeRenne each had three hits.

Washington was led by freshman right fielder Tyler Davidson, who went 3-for-4 with his third home run of the season. Third baseman Michael Done was 2-for-5 with an RBI and Todd Linden batted 1-for-5 with three runs batted in.

The Wildcats and Huskies will decide the series Sunday when they square off in a 1:00 p.m. game.
