In the late 1970's, a group of concerned UA alumni foresaw the importance of private funding sources to the ongoing well-being of University of Arizona Athletics. Subsequently, these committed individuals became the nucleus of an ever-expanding number of UA alumni and friends who have benefitted UA Athletics through various planned and deferred gifts.

Through the use of many types of deferred-giving devices such as bequests, trusts, whole life-insurance policies, and gifts of appreciated assets, Captains Club members provide invaluable assistance in ensuring the future excellence of UA Athletics.
