High School: Attended Central High School in Grand Forks, N.D... Earned four letters in both cross country and track and field for coach Sean Allen... Was the Knights' team captain and MVP from 1997-99... Was a three-time all-state and all-Eastern Dakota Conference performer in cross country... Won the North Dakota state title in cross country as senior and was the state runner-up as a junior... Was a member of the state championship team in 1998... Won the Class A 1,600m state title in both 1998 and 99... Also won the 3,200m title both years... Was a member of the winning 3,200m relay team at the 1999 state meet... Finished fourth in the 3,200m at the AAU National Track and Field Meet in 1998... Member of the National Honor Society.
